Dr. Jay Krishnan is currently serving asthe Head of the General Surgery Division at Cecilia Makiwane Hospital in EastLondon, South Africa and holds a Senior Lecturer position at Walter SisuluUniversity in the Eastern Cape.

Professional Achievements

• Leadership in Medical Organizations:     Dr. Krishnan has played pivotal roles in the South African Medical     Association (SAMA) and as the founding National Marketing Officer for the     South African Surgeons in Training (SASSIT) organization.
• Research and Innovation: A     recipient of the prestigious Discovery Research Fellowship, Dr. Krishnan     continues to contribute to research in the medical field as a Discovery     Alumni.
• Global Surgery Advocate: He is an     active member of the Governance Committee for the Academic Association for     Global Surgery (AAGS), working to improve surgical care worldwide.
• International Collaboration: Dr.     Krishnan serves on the board of trustees and is Chair designate for the     Dr. N. Radhakrishnan Centre for Medical Innovation at Mahatma Gandhi     University in India, fostering international medical cooperation.
